Log of the voyage
The brief
A marketplace sells other people's wine. The app had to let a shopper find the right bottle quickly, know what it tastes like before opening it, buy from several sellers in one go, and meet the wineries behind the labels.
The course we set
Flutter builds the app for iOS and Android from one Dart codebase. Serverpod provides typed endpoints, authentication, caching and real-time order streams; PostgreSQL holds the catalog, sellers, carts, orders and reviews. Buyers and sellers are separate roles that share the same models, and the client code is generated from the server.
The landing
Five core screens carry the shopper from a search to a single checkout: a home with curated collections and category chips, a catalog with filters for price, style and rating, a product page with taste profile, food pairings and seller prices, a cart grouped by seller, and a storefront for every winery.

The Split-Cart Kraken
A single cart can hold bottles from several wineries, and each seller has its own delivery fee, its own delivery slot and its own rating. The shopper expects one checkout and one payment; the sellers expect their own orders.
How it was tamed
The cart is grouped by seller. Each group shows its seller's rating, delivery fee and delivery slot, and one checkout with a single payment covers every group. An age-check reminder (21+ ID at the door) travels with the order, and real-time streams keep each seller's order status current.
